Bonsai Report The Department of Botany of D.G. Vaishnav College, Arumbakkam, Chennai -106, for the first time initiated and organized a two days Skill development training programme on “The Art of Bonsai Making” under the support of College with Potential for Excellence on 9th and 10th March 2021. The College Principal Dr. S. Santhosh Baboo inaugurated the training programme and spoke about the role of students particularly Botany students in the development of a green and healthy environment. Dr.R. Muralidharan Head; Dept. of Botany gave the welcome address and insisted on the critical need for quality skill development and training for the students. He also introduced the Resource person G. Raja who is the Trainer of the Programme. The students had hands on training and they were thrilled by making Bonsai on their own. The programme was organized by Dr. R. Rajarajan, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Botany. Faculty of the Department Dr. P. Ezhumalai, Mr. M. Vasanth and Dr. S.Anantha Padmanabhan were the team members supporting the training programme to make it a grand success. The progamme ended with the distribution of certificates to the participants.
