The Madras high court on Tuesday directed the district level authorities to ensure that receipts are given for the sale of liquor and there is no MRP violation at the Tasmac outlets in the state. The court was hearing a public interest litigation filed by M Rajeswaripriya, a resident of Chennai and founder-president of Anaithu Makkal Arasiyal Katchi, a registered political party. The petitioner sought to take immediate steps to prevent corrupt activities at Tasmac outlets by strictly prohibiting the sale of liquor above MRP, providing bill and receipt to the customers and by prohibiting the sale of fake liquor.
