Sub.:To take necessary action against the culprits for their barbaric action which was circulated on 05.06.2024 in Times of India news channel and YouTube and other news channels and News papers– Reg.
- I am a practicing advocate for about 30 years in the High Court of Madras and also an active member of BJP, Tamil Nadu. I state that on 05.06.2024, I saw a ruthless and a barbaric video in Times of India news channel. The same was also circulated in YouTube and internet like a forest fire. In the aforesaid video, a goat carrying BJP State President K. Annamalai’s photo around its neck was brutally slaughtered in public view in a public road and dragged the body of the goat with blood and rubbed the goat’s blood in the picture of Mr Annamalai’s photo.
- I state that killing a goat in the middle of the road and shouting against Mr. Annamalai and celebrating his (LS polls) defeat is an offence under IPC and other laws. It is necessary to state that on June 4, Mr. Annamalai lost to DMK’s Ganapathy Rajkumar J from the Coimbatore Parliament constituency.
- The above-mentioned barbaric video not only showed a group of men (belonging to DMK party) slaughtering a goat’s head in middle of a public road, but also instigated children to shout slogans against Mr Annamalai. It can be heard on the video that small children were made to shout slogans against Mr Annamalai. Instigating hate and anger with children is highly condemnable. Voices of children shouting, “Annamalai aadu, bali aadu” meaning “Annamalai goat, sacrificial goat”, can be heard in the background.
- It is pertinent to state that in Coimbatore during the election campaign for the Parliamentary Election 2024, the Minister of Youth Welfare and Sports Development Mr. Udhayanidhi Stalin said that once the election result is announced Aadu biriyani (Goat Briyani) has to be made.
- The supporters of the DMK party while welcoming T.R.B. Raja, TN Minister(in charge of Coimbatore parliamentary constituency- DMK candidate) gave him a goat as a symbol at Chennai Airport, of DMK’s victory in the parliamentary elections 2024. It is necessary to state that only after the aforesaid incident the barbaric slaying of a goat by a group of DMK men in Krishnagiri took place.
- It is necessary to state that Annamalai has often been mocked by supporters of the DMK as “Aadu” or “goat” after he had stated that he comes from a humble farming background and his family reared goats.
- The actions mentioned above by the DMK supporters is in a way that affect the harmony and peace between the people and further creates fear of terror in the minds of people and divides the people into groups and cause riots, thereafter threatening and giving criminal intimidation to Mr Annamalai. Even after this happened and the video got trending the Chief Minister and President of DMK party Mr M K Stalin did not control or condemn the members of the party who did the act and it shows that he is encouraging the party members to do such brutal acts.
- The actions mentioned above of the group of men claiming to be from the DMK party is an offence under sections 149, 153, 503, 504, 505 and 506 R/W 34, of I.P.C and Information Technology and also an offence under section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.
I, therefore request you sir/madam to take necessary action against those who were responsible for the ruthless act of slaughtering a goat by carrying BJP State President K Annamalai’s photo around its neck according to law.
