In the HCP filed against illegal detention of school children for working in the spinning mills at Tiruppur District, who were transported from Tiruvannamalai District, the Hon’ble Division Bench of Hon’ble Justice N. KIRUBAKARAN J and Justice V.M. VELUMANI J had suo motu Impleaded The District Superintendent of Police, Tiruppur District and the Joint Director I of Industrial Safety and Health, Tiruppur.

Mr J. ASHOK, Advocate appeared for the petitioner. It was submitted to the Hon’ble Court that those children were transported without any permit or epass. The Hon”ble Court took a serious note of it opining how the transportation was possible without epass for such a long distance. It was submitted by the Learned Public Prosecutor Mrs. PRABHAVATHI that 133 children below 18 years were handed over to child help line.

It was further submitted before the Hon’ble Court that a case was registered at Cheyyur Police Station at Tiruppur District against the Spinning Mill MD and GM.

The Hon’ble Court directed the authorities to conduct inspection of all Mills and directed the Joint Commissioner of Labour, Tiruppur, Chairperson of Child welfare Committee, Joint Director I of Industrial Safety and Health, Tiruppur and the Management of the Mill to file Counter in 2 weeks.
