[12/13, 13:50] Sekarreporter: A PIL is being moved by petitioner P.A.joseph with regard to release of film namely “QUEEN” in all languages
Directed by gowtham vasudev menon and Produced and Released by the MX Player by
free online Web Streaming, as the said film claims to be a biopic of Former Hon’ble
Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Ms.Dr.J.Jayalalitha, Since now the Model Code of
Conduct (in short MCC) is in operation by virtue of Election Notification issued by the
Tamil nadu Election Commission dated 7.12.2019 for the conduct of local body Election within the
State of Tamil Nadu. the present writ petition praying for Writ of Mandamus
directing the tamilnadu election commission to Prohibit the Respondents from in any way
exhibiting, Streaming the film namely “QUEEN” in any form including promotional
posters, trailers or allied publications in all Languages by considering the Petitioner
Representation dated 09.12.2019 taking into consideration the order passed by the
Election commission of India invoking Article 324 of Constitution of India by their
proceeding Vide No.491/MM/2019/Comm dated 10.04.2019 and its
consequential proceeding Vide No.437/6/CG/ECI/LET/FUNCT/MCC/2019 dated
10.04.2019 by which Flim on PM.Narendra modi was stoped from releasing as the Model code of Conduct in short MCC has come into operation in
order to ensure free and fair Local Body Election in Tamil nadu.
