Pursuant to a meeting held on February 12, the Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the names of nine Additional Judges of Madras High Court to be appointed as Permanent Judges of that High Court.

Pursuant to a meeting held on February 12, the Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the names of nine Additional Judges of Madras High Court to be appointed as Permanent Judges of that High Court.

They are:

  1. Justice P.T. Asha
  2. Justice M. Nirmal Kumar
  3. Justice Subramonium Prasad
  4. Justice N. Anand Venkatesh
  5. Justice G.K. Ilanthiraiyan
  6. Justice Krishnan Ramasamy
  7. Justice C. Saravanan
  8. Justice B. Pugalendhi
  9. Shri Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy

Justice Pugalendhi was appointed as an Additional Judge on November 20, 2018. Justice Ramamoorthy was appointed as an Additional Judge on February 22, 2019. The remaining seven Justices were appointed as Additional Judges of the high court on June 4, 2018.

The Collegium has also approved the proposal for appointment of Justice Rahul Chaturvedi, Additional Judge of the Allahabad High Court as a Permanent Judge of that High Court. He was appointed as an Additional Judge of the high court on September 22, 2017.
