Sc judges v Ramasubramaniyam M.M Sundaresh excellant speech in madras high court function

 

Justice V Ramasubramanian, Judge Supreme Court of India, on Saturday spoke at an event organised at the Madras High Court to lay the foundation stone for Administrative Block of Madras High Court and inaugurate Court buildings located in Namakkal and Villupuram Districts.

In his address, Justice Ramasburamanian lauded the Madras High Court, his parent High Court, for its high case clearance rate.

Referring to the case clearance rate in the State, Justice Ramasubramanian said that the Tamil Nadu judiciary ranks amongst top performers of Indian Judiciary.

He pointed out that according to the Madras High Court’s website, in 2021, 1,33,766 cases were filed and 1,46,244 cases were disposed of in the Madras High Court making the case clearance rate 109%. Further, as far subordinate judiciary is concerned, the case clearance rate has consistently been more than 90% which is a record for entire country.

“As part of judiciary we’ve been performing our part. Out of 3 pillars of democracy, one pillar has showcased its part, now its for the other two pillars to showcase their part. That’s the message that I want to convey”, Justice Ramasubramanian said in this context.

Justice MM Sundresh, Judge, Supreme Court of India also spoke at the event.

Justice Sundresh pointed out that there are five factors important for a country’s development which includes, a good robust health, prosperity,production, orderly society and security.

He said that it is the Judiciary which ensures adequate functioning of system which enhances position of progressive nation.

While addressing the Chief Minister MK Stalin and Chief Justice MN Bhandari, Justice Sundresh said that the quality of legal studies is matter of concern.

He said that he has been informed that the post of Director of Legal Service in the State is kept vacant. He therefore suggested that a suitable District Judge be considered for that post an improvement can be seen in the field of law.

Chief Justice of India NV Ramana and Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu MK Stalin also spoke at the event.
