[10/22, 13:12] sekarreporter1: ZERO🥚VALUE NEET TO BE BANNED

NEET is an affront to the State’s Constitutional power in regulating its own admission process to educational institutions, and it impedes one of the most important constitutional mandates under Art 47 of improving public health.

The NEET inherently is antithetical to the principle of equality enshrined under Article 14 of our Constitution. NEET perpetuates inequality and widens the gap between the haves and have-nots.

It has been felt across the country that NEET not only gives students studying in CBSE schools an upper hand, but also greatly disadvantages the economically weaker sections of the society. The experience of the past 5 years shows that in order to pass or score well in the NEET examination, students have to opt for private coaching which is extra-ordinarily expensive and cannot be afforded by a common man. These objections are borne out by the statistics from NEET examinations.  There is a decrease of nearly 17% of students from Tamil Nadu who have applied for NEET 2020 when compared to NEET 2019.  In fact, there has been a steady dip of candidates from Tamil Nadu since 2016, which shows that students from Tamil Nadu are not able to afford the exorbitant charges to coaching class to sit for NEET examinations.

The CBSE enrolment data in CBSE Schools from the Justice P. Kalaiyarasan Committee Report shows that students from forward communities and affluent families are more likely to enrol in these schools concentrated in the urban areas. Therefore, effectively, the poorer students from rural areas are adversely affected. Thus, NEET for the Undergraduate Level does not create a level playing field for all the students as they graduate from different boards with different syllabus. Therefore candidates who pass out from State Board with different curriculum, subject and syllabus cannot be expected to write the NEET which is based on the common syllabus reflecting CBSE syllabus. This is the reason that the success rate of the State Board students is very less.
This year considering that the takers of PG Medical seats are very less, the marks obtained in NEET is now taken as “zero 🥚 percentile”.
If “zero 🥚 NEET marks” are taken in PG Medical admissions then why not NEET be banned ?
Why NEET Exemption bill passed by @mkstalin Govt is not approved till date by @rashtrapatibhvn ?
