The Tamil Nadu Advocate Association hereby strongly condemns the malicious campaign laid out against Hon’ble Dr. Justice Dhananjay Chandrachud. At a time when the entire Bar and Bench is eagerly awaiting the assumption of office by the Hon’ble Judge as the 50th Chief Justice of India, following the footsteps of the illustrious Chief Justice of Mr. Justice Y. V. Chandrachud.

At a time when the entire Bar and Bench is eagerly awaiting the assumption of office by the Hon’ble Judge as the 50th Chief Justice of India, following the footsteps of the illustrious Chief Justice of Mr. Justice Y. V. Chandrachud. That he was elevated in the year 2000 in Bombay and later headed the Allahabad High Court as its Chief Justice and has been serving as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India since 2016 is well known to all in the legal circles. His Lordship has rendered several Landmark Judgments and is known to be a champion for existence of free and liberal society and infusion of technology for the efficient functioning of the Judiciary.
The unwanted comments by some disgruntled elements to malign the Judiciary cannot be tolerated by any member of the Legal fraternity, which ultimately undermines the faith in the Institution in the minds of the innocent general public. The allegations levelled by RK Pathan are completely erroneous and the same are merely based on assumptions, the dubious, malafide and malicious intention is clearly visible in the letter addressed by Mr.Pathan. There seems to a hidden motive and agenda behind these letters which are only addressed to derail the majesty of Indian Judiciary. This recent trend of alleging scurrilous comments and smear campaigns against the Judges of Hon’ble Supreme Court and it’s judges are increasing especially when an eminent Judge is going to take position of the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India.
This degrading trend of tarnishing the Judiciary’s image continues from the term of Hon’ble Justice Ranjan Gogoi and it happened to Hon’ble Justice N.V.Ramana and now Hon’ble Justice D.Y.Chandrachud. These type of erring people scandalizing the Judiciary must be dealt with iron hands. The bar and the bench must strive together to save the dignity and decorum of this Judicial forum and protect the Judiciary from such transgressions.
The Tamil Nadu Advocate Association hereby condemns the irresponsible, slanderous statement and warns to take legal action against all such perpetrators and disgruntled elements.
