#SupremeCourt hears plea of Indian National Congress against a demand of Rs 1700 crores from the Income tax department

SG Tushar Mehta: Petitioner is a political party. This impugned judgment is of 2016 and based on these parameters demand was raised on 2021. On 2024 we recovered 134 crores and now we have raised a demand Rs 1700 crores based on the same parameters now. Since election is going on and therefore till matter is heard after elections we will not take any action for recovery of amount till then. Please have this on Second week of june.
