High Courts and other fora, in term of Instruction F. No. 278A/43/2007-Legal dated
05.12.2007 as per following details. The engagement of these Sr./Jr. Standing Counsels is subject to the terms and conditions as laid down in the said guideline dated 05.12.2007 and revise fee structure F. No. 278A/50/2011-Legal dated
14.09.2012, in reference of proposal received from DRI/DGGI vide F. No.

  1. The panel is constituted for a period of three years in terms of Board’s letterdated 05.12.2007. The fee of Sr./Jr. Standing Counsels are governed by revised fee structure dated 14.09.2012.
  2. It is clarified that DRI/DGGI may avail the services of Sr./Jr. Standing
    Counsels who have been appointed vide Board’s Order F. No. 2378A/13/2023Legal (Part I) dated 04.07.2024 (copy available on CBIC website) for handling
    Indirect Taxation cases of Field formations (GST/C.Ex/Customs) before various
    High Courts and other fora.
  3. This issues with concurrence of Ministry of Law & Justice and the integrated Finance Unit (IFU).
