[30/07, 18:27] sekarreporter1: Today that is on 30th July the case regarding Chennai Metro works removing the Sri Rathina Vinayagar Temple and the temple Tower of Shri Durgai Amman Temple at Whites Road Royapettah Chennai came up for hearing before The honorable Acting Chief Justice Bench. A technical report was filed on behalf of Chennai Metro stating that it is not feasible to change the station from the present location. On seeing the report The Honorable Judges observed that the order dated 18th July was not followed as they had directed to file the feasibility report on changing the exit and entrance of the metro station and not the metro station itself. Shri PS Raman learned Advocate General appeared for Standing Counsel M/s Rita Chandrasekar Chennai Metro Rail . Shri S Ravi senior advocate appeared on behalf of Mr M Ramamurthy counsel for the petitioners. He pointed out that both Ratina Vinayagar and Durgai Amman Temple are more than 100 years old and appropriate clearances have not been obtained. The Honourable Judges asked the Advocate General to answer as to whether the temples are more than 100 years old or not. To this the learned Advocate General answered that he will ask the technical team to visit the site once again and submitt report on changing the entrance and exit of the metro station. Further the Learned Advocate General himself offered that he himself would visit the temples and see them personally to see any alternative could be found out and submit the report. The case has been Adjourned to Second August Friday for further hearing
