Nssj /This court, prima facie, intends to accept the certified copy of the FIR provided by the court, but, now wants to ascertain the truth behind the other FIR registered in the same crime number on 07.03.2024. This court now requires the petitioner to file an affidavit disclosing the source of the FIR, which he had provided in the additional typed set of papers in a sealed cover to this court and also requires Ms.Sasilekha, Inspector of Police, V&AC, Tiruppur, namely the investigating officer to file an affidavit explaining this anomaly.

This criminal original petition is laid for quashing the FIR in Crime No.2/2024/AC/TPR. The case came to be registered on 12.03.2024. A certified copy of the FIR, which the petitioner had obtained from the trial court is made available in the typed set of papers. The respondent too has filed his counter today.

  1. However, the learned counsel for the petitioner has drawn the attention of this court to certain additional typed set of papers, which he had filed on 22.07.2024. Here he has enclosed a FIR in a printed form which carries the same serial number and also the crime number, but seems to have been registered on 07.03.2024 by the same investigating officer, but against a different accused person. Whereas the complainant in the present case is one G.Ashok Kumar and the complainant in the case registered on 07.03.2024 is certain Velusamy. On a cursory scrutiny, this court finds that the handwriting in both the FIRs seems to be strikingly similar.
