[2/18, 18:47] Sekarreporter 1: Today my arguments before Hon’ble M Duraisamy bench on behalf of Director General of Police in the two writ petitions filed seeking for various reliefs is as follows
In Coimbatore District elections are to be held for 1 Corporation, 7 Municipalities and 33 Town Panchayats.
 Coimbatore Corporation limits covers the jurisdiction of Coimbatore City Police and parts of Coimbatore District Police
 76 wards fall within the Coimbatore City Police limits and 24 wards fall within the Coimbatore District Police limits.
 In Coimbatore City 154 ( 29 locations) of the 1956 booths have been identified as critical and vulnerable and adequate strength provided
 In Coimbatore District 396 (81 locations) of the 1022 booths have been identified as critical and vulnerable and adequate strength provided
 For Coimbatore City 24 number of patrols, 73 number of striking forces, 68 number of mobile patrols and 95 number mobile parties have been formed.
 In total for Coimbatore city 1 IGP, 4 SPs, 2 ADCs, 14 ACs/ DSPs, 46 Inspector of Police and 2700 number of other ranks have been deployed.
 For Coimbatore District 24 Number of patrols, 58 number of striking forces, 84 number of mobile patrols and 95 number mobile parties have been formed.
 For Coimbatore District, for the areas covering 24 wards in the Corporation and the remaining municipalites and town panchayats, 1 DIG, 1 SPs, 2 ADSP, 16 DSP, 40 Inspector and 2000 other ranks have been deployed.
 There have been no law and order incidents that have been reported in Coimbatore City and Coimbatore District limits since the announcement of Elections. A few instances of damage to property and assault were reported and immediate action has been taken in these incident.
