Division Bench of Their Lordships Hon’ble Mr Justice R. Subramaniam & Ms Justice R. Kalaimathi have upheld the Order of Hon’ble Justice Anand Venkatesh by which the Ld. Single Judge had upheld discharge Orders passed by the Medical Council of India (now NMC) in respect of 34 students in various Medical Colleges in Pondicherry.

Single Judge had upheld discharge Orders passed by the Medical Council of India (now NMC) in respect of 34 students in various Medical Colleges in Pondicherry. The discharge orders have all been upheld and all the admissions declared illegal. Compensation and costs have also been awarded to students illegally denied admission. Accordingly Writ Petitions filed by illegally admitted students, held rightly dismissed and Appeals of those students dismissed. By an 80-page Order, Writ Appeal of Colleges challenging discharge order also dismissed. Writ Appeals by Colleges and Deemed Universities challenging action by MCI; also dismissed.
Writ Appeals filed by students seeking compensation, allowed.
