Justice Anand Venkatesh had passed final orders directing the DVAC to obtain sanction of prosecution and file police final report/ chargseheet before the appropriate court within 6 weeks. Since more than 35 weeks had passed and Chargesheet had not been filed, Arappor filed the contempt case. In the hearing today, the court took note of the fact that the DVAC has concluded investigation and filed chargesheet through the e filing process which was pending scrutiny of documents. The Honble High court directed the trial court to complete all procedural requirements connected with filing of chargesheet within a period of 2 weeks.

Arappor’s contempt case Cont.P.No 788/2024 against DVAC for non filing of chargesheet in the tender scam of Chennai and Coimbatore corporation involving close aides of former Minister S.P.Velumani came up before Justice Anand Venkatesh today.
