My Lord, Sub: Request to declare holiday for High Court and the Subordinate Courts in the State of Tamil Nadu & Puducherry on 18.09.2023 (Monday) on account of Vinayagar Chaturthi. On 18th of September 2023 the Hindu festival Vinayagar Chaturthi will be widely celebrated all over Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, and the said day is also a declared State Government holiday. Hence, I am writing to respectfully request the declaration of 18th September 2023 as a holiday for the Madras High Court and its subordinate courts, in observance of the Vinayagar Chaturthi festival, and also the said working day may be compensated on some other day, for which we will be obliged to your lordships.
