Public interest litigation filed before the Hon’ble Madras High court by Animal activist Antony Clement represented by his counsel Ms. Kadambri Suresh, Advocate to frame separate set of regulations under Section 38(1) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 regarding Pet Boarding facilities in the State of Tamil Nadu with immediate effect due to the amount of horrendous abuse faced by pets which has led to their death since there are no rules to regulate the functions of the pet boarding facilities. The Hon’ble Acting chief Justice R. Mahadevan and Hon’ble Justice Mohamed Shaffiq were pleased to allow the Public interest litigation and directed the respondents to frame regulations for pet boarding facilities to function within 8 weeks
