[6/13, 18:41] Sekarreporter: Today the Hon’ble High Court of Madras heard a matter in relation to police protection sought by renowned senior advocate and mediator Mr Sriram Panchu. The matter was heard by Hon’ble Mr Justice Satish Kumar. The petitioner Mr Sriram Panchu was represented by learned senior counsel Mr S Prabakaran, the learned senior counsel vehemently contended that the Z category protection was granted to the petitioner on the basis of the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s order in Ramjanmabhomi case as the petitioner Mr Sriram Panchu was appointed as one of the mediators in the mediation ordered by the Hon’ble Apex Court and further contended that the prevailing situation in regards with gyanvapi mosque or mathura issue has raised serious threat to the petitioners life as the start point for these issues were the Ayodhya case. It was further contended by the learned senior counsel that the security rearrangement committee without considering the prevailing situation has withdrawn the protection that was granted for the past 3 years by the order of Hon’ble Supreme court. The learned Senior counsel on the basis of the above arguments requested the Hon’ble court to restore the Z category protection on the basis of his representations. Learned Senior counsel Mr Prabakaran further requested the Hon’ble court for chamber hearing as the matter had high confidential issues and serious threat perception. The Hon’ble court considering the matter and it’s seriousness directed the respondents to file a response and posted the matter on 16.6.2022
