1. 26.07.2019 – Maiden Speech delivered by DMK MP Mr. P.Wilson in the Rajya Sabha calling for OBC reservation in medical seats in All India Quota (AIQ) immediately after taking oath as directed by Mr MK Stalin DMK Leader.

2. 01.11.2019- Under the direction of DMK President, a Letter was sent by DMK MP Mr. P. Wilson to then Hon’ble Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr. Harshvardhan regarding implementation of OBC Reservation in Medical courses in State contributed seats to All India Quota (SCS – AIQ).

3. 22.11.2019 – Demand made by the then Leader of Opposition and current Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Mr MK Stalin asking the Prime Minister for White paper publication on MBBS OBC reservation.

4. 06.12.2019 – Speech delivered by DMK MP Mr. P.Wilson before the Rajya Sabha demanding reservation for OBC in UG/PG/Diploma courses for OBC in All India Quota.

5. Issues were raised periodically by DMK MP’s TR Baalu, A Raja, Kanimozhi, Mr. Tiruchi Siva before the Loksabha and Rajya Sabha seeking for OBC reservation in State contributed seats to All India Quota in medical and dental courses.

6. 06.01.2020 – Meeting between Union Health Minister and DMK MP Mr. P. Wilson regarding OBC Reservation in medical and dental seats and a letter was submitted to the Health Minister regarding the non-implementation of OBC Reservations in medical and dental seats all over India.

7. 11.05.2020 – Letter sent by the DMK MP Mr. P. Wilson to the Union minister of Health and Family Welfare regarding the failure of the Union Government to implement OBC reservation in Medical and Dental seats.

8. 15.05.2020 – Leader of Opposition and current Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. M.K. Stalin condemns that there was no proper response from the Union Government regarding the OBC reservation in medical and dental seats.

9. 27.05.2020 – Leader of Opposition and current Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M.K. Stalin condemns the failure to follow Social Justice in medical and dental education.

10. 29.05.2020 – Public Interest Litigation filed by the DMK Party before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India seeking OBC reservation in the Medical and dental courses in OBC reservation in SCS-AIQ seats.

11. 31.05.2020 – All party meeting via videocall held to condemn the intentional non-implementation of OBC reservation with ulterior motive.

12. 11.06.2020 – Order passed in Public Interest Litigation filed by the DMK Party in W.P (C) No. 507 of 2020 before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. The Hon’ble Supreme Court felt that the issue ought to be agitated before the High Court under Article 226 of the Constitution therefore directed to approach the High Court.

13. 11.06.2020 – Writ Petition No. 8326 of 2020 filed by the DMK Party before the Hon’ble Madras High Court to direct the State and Union Government to implement the OBC reservations and SC/ST reservations in the State surrendered seats in All India Quota in UG PG and Diploma Medical Courses.

14. 19.06.2020 – Union Government submit before the Hon’ble Madras High Court that they will provide reservation after the disposal of Saloni Kumari Case pending before Supreme Court.

15. 22.6.2020 – High court adjourns the matter on the ground that only after the case in Saloni Kumari pending before supreme court is heard and disposed off, it will hear the matter.

16. 13.7.2020 – Supreme Court summons the case papers in Saloni Kumar and finds that the case in Saloni Kumari and the case filed before Madras High court is entirely different and hence directs the Madras High court to proceed with the case.

17. 27.07.2020 – Order passed by the Madras High Court in W.P. No. 8326 of 2020 and batch of cases filed by DMK Party and others holding that the reservation for OBC candidates is permissible in state contributed seats in AIQ and that there is no legal or constitutional impediment to extend reservations for OBC and directed the formation of a 4 member Committee to provide the terms of implementation of such reservation and to grant OBC reservation from academic year 2021 onwards.

18. 7.9.2020 – 4 Member committee formed to implement the reservation pursuant to direction of madras high court.

19. 26.10.2020 – Supreme Court of India directs to implement order of Madras HC granting OBC reservation in SCS-AIQ seats from academic year 2021 onwards.

20. Nov 2020- NEET MDS bulletin released in which reservation for 2021 in State contributed seats not shown.

21. 4.11.2020 – DMK Issues Contempt Notice for violation of the order of Madras High Court.

22. 27.11.2020 – Contempt Petition filed by the DMK Party before the Madras High Court highlighting the failure of the Union Government to comply with order dated 27.07.2020 passed by the Madras High Court.

23. 19.07.2021 – Order passed by the Hon’ble Madras High Court in Contempt Petition No. 181 of 2021 filed by DMK Party, directing the Union Government to indicate the mode and manner of implementation of OBC reservation in the state for admission to Medical and Dental Colleges. The Hon’ble Court also ordered that the admission in the relevant colleges in the State can be done only upon implementing such reservation quota.

24. 26.7.2021 – Solicitor General Undertakes to comply with the orders of Hon’ble first bench.

25. 29.7.2021 – The Union government issues an order to grant 27% reservations for OBC in the State Contributed Seats to All india Quota in medical and dental courses. By virtue of MHC order and virtue of Union Government notification about 4022 seats in medical courses will be made available for OBC students throughout India.

26. Certain Doctors filed writ petitions before Supreme Court of India challenging the Union Government notification dated 29.7.2021 granting OBC reservations by virtue of High Court Order in the DMK case.

27. DMK filed intervening petitions and argued the writ petitions in the Supreme Court of India through P.Wilson Senior Advocate. DMK submitted before the Hon’ble Supreme court that after granting the reservations for OBC it becomes a fundamental right and that Social justice is one of facet of basic features of the Constitution.

28. 07.1.2022 – The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in a Historic verdict upheld the reservations of 27% for OBC in SCS-AIQ seats and refused to interfere with the Union government notification dated 29.7.2021 granting OBC reservations. The Hon’ble Supreme Court said it will examine the eligibility criteria of income at a later point of time. Due to the efforts taken by DMK party about 4022 seats are secured for OBC students across India and social justice in medical and dental education has been upheld.
