He also said that the voice of Justice Ramesh Ranganathan could be heard at the length and breadth of this Country through virtual connectivity .
Earlier, APTEL did not have regular virtual connectivity, making it difficult for stakeholders and lawyers from various parts of the country to travel regularly to Delhi for their cases. Mr P. Wilson, a Senior Advocate and Member of Parliament, took proactive measures to address this issue. He wrote numerous letters to the Hon’ble Union Minister of Power, raised questions in Parliament, and spoke in Parliament about establishing virtual facilities for APTEL. He emphasised that stakeholders and lawyers faced difficulties appearing before APTEL in Delhi, the apex body under the Electricity Act.
Thanks to Mr P. Wilson MP’s persistent efforts, including meetings with the Hon’ble Union Minister for Power and representation to implement Supreme Court orders, as well as raising questions in Parliament about the lack of fund allocation for establishing virtual facilities, the Ministry of Power sanctioned the funds and created the necessary infrastructure for virtual connectivity at APTEL and Permanent virtual connectivity was made available since 22nd July 2024. Now, anyone can have their electricity-related appeal grievance addressed through virtual connectivity at APTEL.
Many lawyers and stakeholders were grateful to Mr P. Wilson MP for his outstanding efforts.
