Today in the Writ Petition filed by Mr Udayanidhi Stalin Hon’ble Minister before Hon’ble Supreme Court for clubbing and transferring FIR/Complaints against him , the Bench comprising of Hon’ble Justice Sanjeev Khanna and Hon’ble Justice Dipenkar Datta adjourned the matter to 06/05/2024. Dr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Senior Advocate along with Sr Adv P Wilson and Sr Adv Chitale appeared and sought time to file a compilation consisting of further FIRs/Summons filed in Rajasthan and a submission note regarding the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s power to club and transfer FIRs. The Bench sought a query with respect to whether the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s Jurisdiction under Article 32 could be invoked for clubbing and transferring all FIR/Complaints or under Section 406, CrPC. Dr Singhvi, who said that law applicable to Nupur Sharma equally applies to Udayanidhi Stalin undertook to address the query raised by the Bench on the next date of hearing.
