This rule of Succession for Christians under Indian Succession Act is as “per stripes” whereas it is “per capita” principle as is being followed under Hindu Succession Act.

Therefore, the estate of the grandfather shall be inherited by his grandchildren by the rule of “per stripes” since grandchildren are “remoter”.

Assuming from the question and we go by the the notion that the grandfather died intestate leaving only “grandchildren” and all “sons” are predeceased him then the estate here shall be divided “equally” in equal shares among all grand children.

Contrarily, under Hindu law of Succession, the shares of “grandchildren” is based on their father.
