The case against actor Vijay Sethumathi has been quashed after his reply in the Madras High Court that he did not buy the Tamil remake rights of the Telugu film Uppena.

Telugu actor Vaishnav Tej and Keerthy Shetty’s ‘Uppena’ was produced in Telugu by Maithri Movie Makers and directed by Pujji Babu Sana. Due to its box office success, it was reported that Vijay Sethupathi’s Vijay Sethupathi Productions bought the remake rights to remake it in Tamil.
In this case, S.U. Dalhousie Prabhu, an assistant director from Theni, filed a case in the Madras High Court that his story was stolen and the film Uppena was made.
In the petition
He mentioned that in 2015, he told the story of Ulagamagan to an assistant director named Sampath from Dharmapuri, and the work of Ulagamagan that he sent to Sampath was stolen by some people and it was made into a film called Uppena in Telugu.
Therefore, the story of the film Uppena should be declared as mine, he should be ordered to pay 50 percent of the income earned from it, and Vijay Sethupathi Films should be banned from making its remake in Tamil.
