CJ Bench – Direction against Illegal cutting of Trees

[6/3, 16:24] sekarreporter1: [6/3, 16:00] Advt JAGANNATHAN: Nonetheless, the State and its authorities are duty bound to take steps if felling of trees takes place beyond the area under auction. In case some trees are fell from an area beyond the area under auction, the respondent State and its authorities shall take appropriate steps in that regard. At the first instance, the respondent State and its authorities shall prohibit any cutting of trees beyond the area under auction.
The writ petition is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs. WMP Nos.14078 and 14084 of 2023 are closed.
