We have heard Mr.K.Karthikeyan, learned counsel for the petitioner; Mr.U.Bharanidharan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1, 3 to 8; and Mr.S.Diwakar, learned counsel for the second respondent.

2. A memo is filed by the sixth respondent. It is stated that a decision has been taken to cancel the proposal of construction of check-dam.  A copy of the letter dated 15.5.2023 is sought to be placed on record.
3. In the light of that, the purpose of the writ petition stands subserved. The writ petition, as such, is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.  Consequently,

W.M.P.Nos.12921 and 12923 of 2023 are closed.
