PROFILE OF JUSTICE S.VAIDYANATHAN
Justice S.VAIDYANATHAN, B.A., B.L., was born on 17th August, 1962 at Coimbatore. He had undergone his schooling in Singaram Pillai High School Villivakkam, Chennai
and had completed his graduation in B.A. (Economics) at D.G.Vaishnav College, Arumbakkam during 1979-1982. In order to conquer his thirst in Law, he joined B.L. in Madras Law College (now known as Dr.Ambedkar Government Law College) in the year 1982. After receiving his Post Graduate Diploma in Personal Management, Labour Welfare and Industrial Relations in 1986, he enrolled as an Advocate in the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on 27th August, 1986.
Justice S.Vaidyanathan started his career in the High Court of Judicature at Madras, where his paternal grandfather Sri L.S.Vaidyanathan served as a Superintendent in the Copyist Section and retired in the year 1952. His Lordship’s father Sri V.Subramanian was a Shoe Polish Seller and later grew to be a committed Trade Unionist. His father was a root cause for formation of a Union called the first white-collared Employees’ Union in 1946, viz., Madras Commercial Employees Union in this city of Madras. He also served as an Editor of Labour Law Books published by Madras Book Agency and was subsequently, elevated as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Judicature at Madras on 25.10.2013 and became a permanent Judge of this Court on 14.04.2015.
