Kudos to Tamilnadu police for finding out the culprits – the double murder accused with in a few hours ………one of the quickest in a murder for gain …… this incident has happened in Mylapore, Chennai, a mere 10 minute walk from my home ………. The issue may be solved for the investigation team but that is not so ……..The point to ponder is the life of parents and seniors in our country ………. The life span of elders are increasing thanks to the the medical science and technology…….. most of the elders in Autumn of their lives are waiting for a spring which is always a mirage …….. No one including the slain couple or their kith and kin would never ever have expected this ………This is not the first and not going to be the last ……… if you happen to meet any one above 60 peace and happiness is missing most of them are fending for themselves or in legal tangles either with their pension issues , cyber financial frauds or in dowry harassment or a domestic violence issues many a time no even a party to it remotely or facing property feuds ……. With their own off springs ….Fearing their life and limb ……….will The parents and senior citizens maintenance Act 2007 alone solve the crisis ?…. The society has a great responsibility towards our elders…… A luxurious life in a gated community or safe elderly care home popularly called old age home is not the solution…….. how are we going to tackle this ………old age with money or with out is a curse …….. let us begin to change our societal attitudes wholesomely towards our parents and senior citizens….Let us not forget our living gods and leave them in the hands of destiny ……….
