PRINCIPAL SEAT AT MADRAS AND

MADURAI BENCH OF MADRAS HIGH COURT AT MADURAI

It is hereby notified that the following sitting arrangements are made for Christmas Holidays – 2022, i.e., from 24.12.2022 (Saturday) to 01.01.2023 (Sunday) for the Madras High Court (both Principal Seat at Madras and Madurai Bench of Madras High Court at Madurai).

  1. The Hon’ble Thiru.Justice C.V.Karthikeyan, The Hon’ble Thiru. Justice A.A.Nakkiran, The Hon’ble Thiru.Justice Mohammed Shaffiq and The Hon’ble Thiru.Justice S.Sounthar will sit at Principal Seat at Madras as Vacation Judges on 28.12.2022 (Wednesday) to dispose of urgent matters.
  2. The Hon’ble Thiru.Justice P.Velmurugan, The Hon’bleJustice R.N.Manjula and The Hon’ble Thiru.Justice R.Vijayakumar will sit at Madurai Bench of Madras High Court at Madurai, as Vacation Judges on 28.12.2022 (Wednesday), to dispose of urgent matters.

Sitting of the Vacation Court will be from 10.30 a.m. to 4.45 p.m. on 28.12.2022 (Wednesday) in the Madras High Court (both Principal Seat and Madurai Bench).

The method of hearing of cases being followed now in the Madras High Court (both Principal Seat and Madurai Bench) will be applicable for the Christmas Holidays Sitting – 2022.

Notice of any application of urgent matters alone should be presented along with the papers to the Vacation Officers on 26.12.2022 (Monday) from 10.30 a.m. to 01.30 p.m. in the Madras High Court (both Principal Seat and Madurai Bench) by following the present system of filing of case papers, copy applications, returning / re-presenting the case papers and receiving the order copies.

No application should be presented at the residence of the Hon’ble Vacation Judges under any circumstances and no lunch motion will be entertained during Christmas Holidays – 2022.

For the bail petitions, Lower Court bail order should be enclosed along with the petitions.

The Registry of the Madras High Court (both the Principal Seat and Madurai

Bench) will work from 10.00 a.m. to 4.45 p.m., on all working days during Christmas Holidays – 2022, except the Court sitting day, on which day, the Registry will function from 10.00 a.m. to 5.45 p.m., or till the rising of the Court, whichever is later.
