STATUS REPORT FILED BY THE MANAGING DIRECTOR OF Tamil Nadu Co-operative Milk Producers’ Federation Ltd. (AAVIN)

 

I, Dr. S. Vineeth, Son of K. Sukumarapillai, Hindu, aged 40 years, and holding the post of Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Co-operative Milk Producers’ Federation Ltd., having office at Aavin Illam, No.3, Chamiers Road, Nandanam, Chennai-35., do hereby solemnly affirm and sincerely state as follows:-

  • I am the Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Co-operative Milk Producers’ Federation Ltd., and well conversant with the facts of the case and I am filing this status report on behalf of the Aavin.
  • It is respectfully submitted that the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Milk Producers’ Federation Ltd. has conducted the sample survey in the following villages as per the orders of the Honourable High Court of Madras by issuing the Customer Survey form.
  1. Pollachi, Coimbatore District
  2. Mettupalayam, Coimbatore District
  • Thirumangalam Road, North High Court Colony, Kumaraswamy Nagar, Thirunagar and SIDCO Nagar of Villivakkam, Chennai
  • The Customer Survey form is included with the following questionnaires.
    1. How would you like to purchase Aavin Milk?
    2. What type of Packing you are interested to buy Aavin Milk?
    3. Will you support Aavin, if the Aavin Milk is sold in Glass bottle instead of Polyethylene film?
    4. Will you support Aavin, if the rate of Glass bottle Milk (Approx. Rs.100/- to Rs.120/-) is higher than the rate of Polythene pouch Milk (Rs.40/- to 60/-)?
    5. Will you return the Milk bottle to Aavin after usage?
    6. How do you like to buy Aavin Glass bottle Milk?
    7. Are you interested to buy Aavin Milk in Glass bottles by Monthly subscription?

 

 

  • The Survey conducted at Tirumangalam Road, Kumarasamy Nagar and Thirunagar areas of Chennai with 34 consumers by issuing the Customer Survey form. In this, the following details are arrived.
  1. 97% of consumers willing to purchase Aavin Milk through Monthly Card Subscription and 3% from Directly from Shops
  2. 85% of consumers are interested to purchase in Glass bottle, 6% in Polythene Pouch and 9% in Tetrapak.
  • 94% of Consumers will support Aavin, if the Aavin Milk is sold in Glass bottle and 6% of the consumers will not support
  1. 6% of the consumers will support Aavin for the rate is higher than the polythene pouch and 94% will not support
  2. 97% of the Consumers are willing to return the Milk bottle to Aavin after usage and 3% is not willing.
  3. 94% of Consumers are Willing to buy Aavin Glass bottle Milk through Door delivery and 6% directly from shops
  • 94% of the consumers are willing to buy Aavin Glass bottle Milk by monthly subscription and 6% is not willing.

 

  • The Survey conducted at SIDCO Nagar of Villivakkam, North High Court Colony of Chennai areas with 48 consumers by issuing the Customer Survey form. In this, the following details are arrived.
  1. 100% of consumers willing to purchase Aavin Milk through Monthly Card Subscription
  2. 23% of consumers are interested to purchase in Glass bottle, 73% in Polythene Pouch and 4% in Tetrapak.
  • 35% of Consumers will support Aavin, if the Aavin Milk is sold in Glass bottle and 65% of the consumers will not support
  1. 21% of the consumers will support Aavin for the rate is higher than the polythene pouch, 77% will not support and 2% Not answered.
  2. 52% of the Consumers are willing to return the Milk bottle to Aavin after usage 33% is not willing and 15% of the Consumers not answered.
  3. 40% of Consumers are Willing to buy Aavin Glass bottle Milk through Door delivery, 44% directly from shops and 16% Not answered
  • 44% of the consumers are willing to buy Aavin Glass bottle Milk by monthly subscription, 44% is not willing and 12% not answered.
  • The survey conducted at Pollachi village of Coimbatore District by issuing the Customer Survey form to 135 consumers and the forms are collected. In this, the following details are arrived.
  1. 1% of consumers willing to purchase Aavin Milk through Monthly Card Subscription and 99% are willing to purchase directly from the shops
  2. 99% of consumers are interested to purchase in Polythene Pouch and 1% in Tetrapak. The consumers are not interested in Glass botle
  • 99% of Consumers will not support Aavin, if the Aavin Milk is sold in Glass bottle and 1% will support.
  1. 99% of the consumers will not support Aavin for the rate is higher than the polythene pouch, 1% of the consumers not answered.
  2. 8% of the Consumers are willing to return the Milk bottle to Aavin after usage 90% is not willing and 2% of the Consumers not answered.
  3. 84% of Consumers are Willing to buy Aavin Glass bottle Milk through Door delivery, 12% directly from shops and 4% Not answered
  • 2% of the consumers are willing to buy Aavin Glass bottle Milk by monthly subscription, 98% is not willing.

 

  • The survey conducted at Mettupalayam village of Coimbatore District by issuing the Customer Survey form to 138 consumers and the forms are collected. In this, the following details are arrived.
  1. 6% of consumers willing to purchase Aavin Milk through Monthly Card Subscription and 94% are willing to purchase directly from the shops
  2. 79% of consumers are interested to purchase in Polythene Pouch, 7% in Glass bottles and 14% Tetrapak.
  • 78% of Consumers will not support Aavin, if the Aavin Milk is sold in Glass bottle and 22% will support.
  1. 94% of the consumers will not support Aavin for the rate is higher than the polythene pouch, 6% of the consumers will support.
  2. 17% of the Consumers are willing to return the Milk bottle to Aavin after usage 83% is not willing and 2% of the Consumers not answered.
  3. 28% of Consumers are Willing to buy Aavin Glass bottle Milk through Door delivery, 71% directly from shops and 1% Not answered
  • 8% of the consumers are willing to buy Aavin Glass bottle Milk by monthly subscription, 92% is not willing.

 

  • It is humbly submitted to the Honourable Court that the Milk in Glass bottle is not interested by the consumers in the following areas.
  1. Thirumangalam Road, Kumarasamy Nagar and Tirunagar areas of Chennai (6%)
  2. Pollachi (1%)
  • Mettupalayam (7%)

 

  • It is also humbly submitted that the consumers are interested to buy the Milk in Polythene Pouch instead of Glass bottle due to the higher cost as per the Customer Survey conducted by Aavin in the villages of Coimbatore and Chennai areas. Hence the interest of the consumers may be analysed by the Honourable Court for further consideration.

 

  • Therefore, it is prayed that this Honourable Court may be pleased to accept the status report and pass suitable orders and thus render justice.
