The Hon’ble Mr. Justice Senthil Kumar Ramamoorthy today passed orders in applications in civil suit filed by Hon. Thiru V. Senthil Balaji against Mr. CTR Nirmal Kumar, then BJP IT wing state secretary for defamation. Mr. Senthil Balaji had claimed that Mr. CTR Nirmal Kumar had indulged in a defamatory campaign against him on social media, posting tweets and giving YouTube interviews alleging various acts of irregularities and corruption without any basis, evidence or verification but in thin air out of his own imagination. This resulted in defamation and tarnishing of Thiru Senthil Balaji’s reputation.

This resulted in defamation and tarnishing of Thiru Senthil Balaji’s reputation. Therefore, he has sought for Rs. 2 crores damages and injunction pending trial.

The Hon’ble Judge in the order pronounced today held as follows:
1. CTR Nirmal Kumar is restrained from posting, publishing or circulating defamatory tweets without verification or cogent evidence against the plaintiff.
2. In so far as any alleged irregularities in TASMAC, the allegations shall be made only with evidence and materials
3. CTR Nirmal Kumar has been directed to take down his tweets dated 4/2,18/6, 19/6, 7/7, 1/12 and his video failing which Twitter and YouTube has been directed to take them down.
