ORDER:
In the Government order first read above, the Government had originally constituted the State Law Commission. In the Government order second read above, the State Law Commission was lastly reconstituted. In the Government order third read above, the tenure of the reconstituted Commission was extended for a further period of three years and the term of the Commission is due to expire on 18.06.2023 A.N.
2. The Government now hereby reconstitute the State Law Commission with the following composition:-
Chairman Retired Supreme Court Judge
Two Full-Time Members
(i) Retired High Court Judge
(ii) Retired Secretary to

Government, Law Department
Two Part-Time Members Retired District Judges
Full-Time Member Secretary : In the cadre of Secretary to Government, Law Department.
3. The Government appoint Hon’ble Justice Thiru. Chockalingam Nagappan, retired Judge of the Supreme Court of India as the Chairman of the reconstituted

State Law Commissions The Government also appoint the following persons as Full-Time Members of the State Law Commission, Tamil Nadu:-
(i) Hon’ble Justice Thiru. N, Authinathan, Retired Judge of Madras High Court.
(ii) Thiru. S. Dheenadhayalan, Retired Secretary to Government, Law Department.
4. The functions of the State Law Commission shall be as specified in G.O.Ms. No.216, Law Department, dated 09.05.1994.
5. Orders regarding the tenure of the commission, terms and conditions of appointment of Chairman and Full-Time Members will be issued separately.
6. Orders regarding the appointment of Part-Time Members, Full-time Member Secretary and other staff of the Law Commission etc., will be issued separately.
7. The Office of the State Law Commission is located at 5th Floor, SIDCO Buildings, Thiru. Vi. Ka. Industrial Estate, Guindy, Chennai-600 032.
8. This order issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department vide its
U.O.N0.2011/FS/P/2023 dated 16.06.2023.
