Solicitor General Tushar Mehta as well as Senior Counsel NR Elango have prepared tabulations with respect to differences of opinion between 2 judges who delivered split verdict @THChennai
[7/7, 14:34] sekarreporter1: Solicitor General says, he has filed his suggestions on issues on which there is a difference. He reads out the differences on maintenance of HCP, power of ED to seek police custody and so on.
Judge: It fundamentally questions identity of the ED. It says ED has identity crisis.
[7/7, 14:34] sekarreporter1: SG says there are authorities which state that the third judge must answer only the points of difference between the two judges who had delivered a split verdict. NRE requests the judge to look into an annexure filed by him tabulating the differences of opinion.
[7/7, 14:34] sekarreporter1: NRE says, he is not disputing the memo submitted by the SG but says he has made a separate tabulation on the differences of opinion between the two judges and requests the court to look into his tabulation too. He is now reading out the tabulation prepared by him.
